Italian Greyhounds

Karen Chant ( Diavolino IG's ) is a huge supporter of Rescue and also helps other IG breeders find homes for their dogs. There are a few dogs available on her website - some are rescues, others are retired showdogs.

Please visit her website to see pics. http://www.diavolinoigs.com/Available.html

Currently there are several dogs available from a longtime breeder who has health issues and can no longer care for them. You can see pics and read a bit about each of them.

There are also 2 males available from another breeder - pics and such are there for you to see.

Karen also has a 6 yr old female cutie available to the right home. There are pics of her, as well.

Whippet/Greyhound available in Alberta

Chinook Winds Greyhound Rescue Foundation has a Whippet/Greyhound cross available for adoption. "Radar" is a black brindle boy, just under a year old. Sighthounds are quite active as youngsters and typically mature out at about 3 yrs of age. They are a lot of fun... a lot of work but that work is very rewarding.

To learn more about Radar and see pics, please visit the website.

We also have 6 other males and 4 females available to the right homes. If you are interested, please fill out an application from the website and someone will be in contact with you shortly.

11 Whippets Available

WRAP - Whippet Rescue and Placement - currently has 11 Whippets available for adoption.

Three of them are in California - 3 four year old females.

One in Colorado - a 1.5 year old male.

Seven in Illinois - 11 yr old female ( yes, 11 yrs young but so darn pretty you just wanna spoil her rotten ), 10 yr old male ( again, just ready to be hugged and kissed and spoiled ), 9 yr old female, 5 yr old male, two 5 yr old females, 8 yr old female, 9 yr old male and a 6 yr old male. Apparently, they all belonged to a longtime breeder who has passed away.

I am not a member of WRAP but wanted to help. This is an unusually high number of Whippets to be available at any given time. I am not familiar with their adoption policy nor their requirements of a home. Please visit the website to see pics and learn more. Whippet Rescue & Placement - WRAP http://www.whippet-rescue.com

Iggies have all found homes

I just heard from Cantex IG's - all the IG's they had available have now found good homes. Thank you for your interest.

I do not currently know of anyone who has IG's available but will certainly post here with updates if I hear of any.

Due to my pending renovations, I will not be Fostering until further notice.

Have a wonderful summer!

Piper - update

Piper has been placed in a new home and is doing well. I think she is enjoying all the attention and not having to share people with other dogs.

Thank you to everyone for your interest. I am in the process of renovating my home and will not be Fostering until at least the fall, when everything is done and I have everything back in order.

Blessings from the Faerie Laedie!

Piper

Summer is almost officially here and you’re thinking about adding a little dog to your life. I might be able to help with that.

I am currently screening homes for Piper - an adult female Min Pin. Piper is spayed, up to date on all her shots and solid red in color. She is sweet, affectionate, quiet and easy to live with but is not a good candidate for those with other dogs or with kids. She had a bad experience in a previous home and I feel it would be best for her to be in a quiet household where she can be an only dog.

Qualified homes must have a fenced yard ( minimum 4 feet high ) but condos/apartments will be considered if it is determined to be the best match. This little girl is crate trained… leash trained… housetrained… has some basic obedience training… travels well in the car… is active… very, very affectionate and enjoys being with you. She will definitely go for walks with you, if you choose but is also very happy to romp in the yard and then cuddle in front of the TV. Min Pins are considered a high-energy breed but this little girl is mature and not what I would consider to be hyper-active.

Those who respond will be sent an adoption application. All applications are then reviewed and we will let you know if this little girl will be a good match for you. There will be no adoption fee for her but I will be very particular about where she goes, so this is not a case of first come, first serve.

Due to the overwhelming amount of inquiries, please allow 2-3 days for me to respond. A tremendous amount of time and care will be taken to ensure she is placed in the very best home, as I want her to be a life-long companion. That is why there is no fee for her, I am not concerned with money but with her welfare. I look forward to hearing from you.
Blessings from the Faerie Laedie!

Available Dogs

First, I have a 9 yr old red Min Pin available to the right home. Unfortunately, Piper has had some bad luck in previous homes so she's back at Faerie Tail and hoping to find a Forever Home soon.

Piper is spayed, solid red with natural ears. She is sweet, loving, quiet, obedient, leash trained, house trained, crate trained and eager to please. I feel it is in her best interests to be in a home with no other dogs and no kids, as both make her rather nervous. There is no placement fee for her but I will ask that an adoption application be filled out. Fenced yard is a must, Piper is not trustworthy off-leash outside the safety of your home or fenced yard. She has been trained to sit and wait while you open the door, will sit for a treat as well. Loves to cuddle and watch TV with you.

Chinook Winds Greyhound Rescue Foundation is making arrangements to take in a 3 yr old neutered male IG. He is blue in color, housetrained and very social. If you are interested, we ask that you visit our website and fill out an application www.chinookwindsgreyhounds.org Please specify somewhere on the application that you are interested in an IG. If all goes well, he will be transported to Alberta the weekend of June 13th.
